Rob Gillett - Owner
Rob began his love affair with cars at the age of 10 where he could always be found hanging around his neighbor's house. Rob's neighbor, in fact, had a NASCAR Winston West race team. Not surprisingly, they finally got tired of Rob's just hanging around and got him to help around the shop. Shortly thereafter, Rob was asked to join their races, and at that point he knew that he was hooked. This is what he wanted to do--to be around cars and motorsports.
Rob's family was involved as long as he could remember with unlimited hydroplane racing. At the age of 16, Rob was asked to join the Oh Boy! Oberto team on the unlimited racing circuit and was a member of the team for the next 3 years.
The next phase of Rob's life led him to attend the Universal Technical Institute (UTI) in Phoenix, Arizona. Rob graduated with top honors, a degree in Automotive and Diesel Technology, and 16 Student of the Phase awards.
Fast-forwarding to present day, Rob now has over 30 years of experience in the professional automotive industry. He is certified as ASE Master Automobile, ASE Master Truck, and ASE Advanced Engine Specialist. Rob is also certified as a Washington State Certified Emissions Specialist.
Rob is currently on the crew for Hancock and Lane Racing, a world-record holding Competition Eliminator and Super Stock NHRA champion race team. He's married and has two teenage daughters.
